Run a waitlist after sell-out
When a ticket category sells out, guests can join its waitlist. Nobody is charged to join: when you release a spot, they pay at normal checkout.
Where to find it: Event Customization → Waitlist
How to do it
- Open Event Customization → Waitlist.
- In Setup, turn on Intake for each category you want a queue for, and set its Queue cap (the most people who can join). Then pick a Default claim window: 1h, 4h, 12h, 24h or custom. It's how long a buyer has to claim a released spot, and never runs past the end of the event.
- Switch to Manage waitlist and pick a category to see who's waiting, in join order.
- Tick the people you want and click Release to selected.
- Confirm the number of spots and the purchase window, then click Release.
The join form only appears once a category sells out; categories without intake just show "Sold out". Releasing raises the category's quantity by the spots you release, and only the people you selected are notified.
Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Waiting | In the queue, not offered a spot yet |
| Released | Offered a spot; the purchase window is running |
| Converted | Bought within the window |
| Expired | Didn't buy in time; release the spot to the next person |
Tip: Remove from queue takes someone out of line without notifying them or changing ticket quantity.
