Cross-border sales and the 2% FX fee
If your event takes place in a different country from your connected Stripe account, an extra 2% FX fee applies. It covers Stripe's cross-border card processing and currency conversion.
How to do it
You can still run events abroad from your existing Stripe account: the 2% covers settling the money back to it. To avoid the fee, use a Stripe account registered in the event's country.
Each organisation connects one Stripe account. If you run events in several countries, create one organisation per country and connect a local Stripe account to each:
- Add an organisation for the new country.
- In that organisation, click Connect Stripe and select the country.
- Complete verification with a business registered there. See Which countries are supported?
When it applies
| Stripe account | Event location | Extra FX fee |
|---|---|---|
| Singapore | Singapore | No |
| Singapore | Thailand | 2% |
Tip: for every other fee, and who pays it, see Who pays the fees?.
