Why you need a new Stripe Express account
Even if you already use Stripe, you create a new Stripe Express account for Tessera. Keeping your Tessera sales in a separate account protects you and us when an event is cancelled or a buyer asks for a refund.
Where to find it: Connect Stripe
How to do it
- Click Connect Stripe.
- Select your country of operation. See Which countries are supported?.
- Tell Stripe whether your business has a UEN, then complete its identity checks: as an individual or sole proprietor, a company or a charity, society or club.
- Add the bank account you want to be paid into.
What the separate account means
| Your money | Ticket revenue goes straight to your bank account. We never hold your funds. |
| Stripe fees | Included in Tessera's fees, so you pay nothing extra to Stripe. See Who pays the fees? |
| Refunds | Issued from your Tessera dashboard. |
| Which events | Paid events only. Free events don't need Stripe. |
Tip: you need this account before you can publish a paid event. See Connect Stripe to publish.
